PLACES TO VISIT
LETICIA and SURROUNDINGS: Most interesting places around Leticia are Yahuarakaka lakes, where possible to take a boat trip to watch a lot of kingfishers, herons, egrets, hawks, flycatchers and much more. Inside forest there are great trails around indigenous Maloka, where possible pigmy kingfishers, white chested toucans, fiery topaz, aracaries, hawks, Titi monkeys, snakes, frogs, and much more.
MARASHA RESERVE: This great reserve located in the peruvian side of the Amazonas river is an excellent place to see lots of Hoatzins, herons, squirrel monkeys, kingfishers, macaws and toucans. At night it is worthed to wait in a specific place for tapirs to appear.
PUERTO NARIÑO and SURROUNDINGS: This small and very nice village has great places to visit such as Tarapoto lake, very good to spot pink dolphins, acuatic birds, hawks, kingfichers and much more. Other great places are Amacayacu National Park, San Martin de Amacayacu village, and Alto del Aguila.
